Joshua Carter Jackson (born June 11, 1978) is a Canadian/American actor. He has appeared in American television and films, and is known for his role as Pacey Witter in the television series Dawson's Creek.

Biography
Early life
Jackson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to an American father, John Jackson, and an Irish-born mother, Fiona, a casting director. He has a sister, Aisleagh, and two half-brothers, Lyman and Jonathan. Jackson grew up in California and Seattle[1] until age 8, when he moved back to Vancouver with his mother and younger sister.
Career
Soon after he took up acting, landing a role in a commercial for
Keebler's Potato Chips. Jackson became known for the role of Pacey Witter on
Dawson's Creek, but he has also appeared in several movies
including
Cruel Intentions,
The Mighty Ducks series,
Apt Pupil,
Scream 2,
The Laramie Project and
The Skulls. In 2005 he was one of the few actors to be considered for the role of
Bruce Wayne/
Batman in
Batman Begins. He will next appear in the all-star ensemble drama
Bobby, directed by
Emilio Estevez, Jackson's co-star from
The Mighty Ducks.
Personal life
In November 2002, Jackson was arrested by Raleigh, North Carolina police and charged with assaulting a security guard at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. Jackson registered a blood alcohol level of 0.14 when tested at the Wake County Jail. He posted a $1,000 bail and was released. He was later charged to enter an alcohol education program, a fine of $150 and complete 24 hours of community service.[2]
Jackson divides his time between Los Angeles and Vancouver. Previously he lived in Wilmington, North Carolina, where the television program Dawson's Creek was filmed. He has dated Katie Holmes, Brittany Daniel, Julia Stiles, Rosario Dawson and currently, Diane Kruger.
