Publicity
Eddie crashed a rare Ferrari Enzo while practicing for a charity racing event on March 27, 2007. He seemed to walk away completely unscratched, but the $1.2 million Enzo was damaged beyond repair.[1] The owner of the Ferrari, producer Daniel Sadek, said he had "mixed feelings" about the crash. "I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash okay but my dream car got destroyed," he said, according to the BBC.[2] When asked by reporters his reaction to the crash, Griffin stated, "Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the Brother can't drive".[3] Some have speculated that the crash was staged, as Sadek's cars have been totaled during filming in the past. Eddie Griffin's publicist released a statement the day after the accident in response to these speculations, "It was not a hoax. Eddie was racing for a charity to promote his upcoming film, "Redline." He got in an accident. He is suffering from neck and shoulder pain as a result of the accident. It was in no way a hoax".[4]
