Wild Hope is the first album by American pop singer Mandy Moore in four years, and the first with original material in six years, released via her new label, The Firm Music, a division of EMI. According to a press release, the album is scheduled for a June 19, 2007 release (see 2007 in music).
About the album
For this album Moore collaborated with producer
John Alagia (
Dave Matthews Band,
Liz Phair) and has written material for the first time: she wrote/co-wrote songs with
Rachael Yamagata,
Chantal Kreviazuk,
Michelle Branch,
Lori McKenna and indie pop-folk duo
The Weepies, all chronicled in a promotional
video available for viewing on her official website. This is the first album that Moore co-wrote entirely. She wrote the songs about everything including her break up with ex-boyfriend
Andy Roddick.
[citation needed] This is her first full studio album in four years, and her first full album of entirely original material since 2001's self-titled album. "Extraordinary", one of the tracks she co-wrote with The Weepies, was premiered via her
MySpace profile on
January 29,
2007. Moore has also put another song on her MySpace profile called "Nothing That You Are". The new track premiered on
February 9,
2007.
On March 14, 2007, on the opening of Moore's official website, yet another song was released. "All Good Things" plays on her website whenever you open it.
Because a video for "Extraordinary" has been
made, it is highly likely that this will be her first single. This song is also used on the trailer for the
Garry Marshall film
Georgia Rule, starring
Felicity Huffman,
Lindsay Lohan and
Jane Fonda.
