Pushing to 1.0 (talk)

Static content subcom.

This is the project page for a series of Wikipedia CD being produced by SOS Children. The first CD was finished in April 2006 ( see 2006 Wikipedia CD Selection). The 2007 CD will be ready end March 2007.

The other series of CDs being produced is the "Wikipedia Release" series. The main difference is that the "Selection" CDs are intended to be child safe (aimed at 8-14 year olds) and although no content has been changed it has been edited by deletion.

See the talk page for more information.

Pages which are included or candidates for the next version can be added by anyone by adding the talk page to Category:Wikipedia_CD_Selection or tagging the canidate article's talk page with one of the category-specific template tags also listed on the Category:Wikipedia_CD_Selection page. For example, an Africa-related article's talk page would make use of the {{WPCD-Africa}} tag. For articles which fall outside of the categories on the category page, the generic {{WPCD}} template can be added.

The tentative list for the 2007 Wikipedia CD Selection is at http://2007-Wikipedia-CD-Selection.fixedreference.org/wp/index/alpha.htm

Please note articles with issues on the talk pages. This is currently 900M (too big for a CD) so we will have to trim less interesting articles. There are also some articles from the release version 0.5 which still need to be added.
