A sleepover, also known as a pyjama party, a pajama party or a slumber party, is a type of party which a guest or guests are invited to another's house, usually to stay overnight, as well as celebrate birthdays and other specific occasions. Generally, participants are children or adolescents of the same gender. It is a specific type with some focus on the clothing worn. The participants typically stay up late, while talking and playing until they fall asleep. Sleepovers are usually held at one participant's house, with other children bringing their own pillows and other bedtime paraphernalia most of the time. In certain occasions, children play board games, have pillow fights, watch movies, have tickle fights or build forts, consisting primarily of blankets. Teenagers might have a LAN party at a sleepover, playing games such as Halo and not actually going to sleep. Girls like to talk about their crushes and boyfriends, while boys like to talk about who they think is hot! These are primarily held by representatives of Western cultures, and are considered to be enjoying by many children.
