Skechers (NYSE: SKX) is an American shoe company headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California, founded by ex-hairdresser and LA Gear shoe company founder Robert Greenberg. After being ousted from the LA Gear board, Greenberg started Skechers in 1992 with his son, as a distributor for Doc Marten. They launched their own shoe lines in 1995. It has been promo by huge artists like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ashlee Simspon, among others. [1] Their most famous products are Doc Marten-style sandals and sports shoes designed for use with skateboards, but the company has since moved into mainstream casual footwear targeting the teenage market.
