Simon Rex Cutright (born July 20, 1974 in San Francisco, California) is an American actor and model who first became famous as a popular mid-90's MTV VJ. He also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger.

Biography

In 1993, Rex was broke, so he answered an ad in a mainstream magazine. Over a four month period, he worked in three solo masturbation adult gay films which are still being sold on DVDs.^[1][2] The films, directed by photographer Brad Posey, are titled as Hot Sessions #3, and Young, Hard & Solo #2 & #3. His stage name at that time was "Sebastian." In Solo #2, he masturbated while watching another tape of "Young, Hard & Solo." In Solo #3, he masturbated in a bike repair shop. In Hot session #3, he masturbated in a jacuzzi.^[3]

In 1995, MTV kept Simon on the air for over a year after his solo adult video work became known as his fame and popularity increased. After being let go by MTV during an update to its VJ line-up, Simon began to pursue other acting and was cast in the television show Jack & Jill in 1999 which ran for two seasons. Disney refused to consider casting him in the sitcom "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane" (The WB) because of his past association with adult films.^{[citation needed]} He appeared as "Eli" in the TV show Felicity and television guest appearances followed including Baywatch, Everwood, and Summerland), as well as cameos in various films. In 2002, the pilot for the show What I Like About You was picked up. Rex starred in the first season.

Rex most recently appeared in the films The Forsaken, Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4 and The Karate Dog. He also starred in National Lampoon's Pledge This! with Paris Hilton, and was romantically involved with her during shooting of the film and also briefly dated Jaime Pressly.

Simon Rex's rapping career is popular on Myspace, as "Dirt Nasty". He tours with his band (Dyslexic Speedreaders) and will be starring in Lifetime's upcoming show, Monarch Cove.
