Mio in the Land of Faraway (Swedish title: 'Mio min Mio') is a 1987 film produced in cooperation by companies from Sweden, Norway, and the Soviet Union. It was directed by Vladimir Grammatikov and is based on the novel Mio, my Mio by Astrid Lindgren.

Plot
Bosse (
Nicholas Pickard) is a poor and lonely boy and he is taken from his boring life to the Land of Faraway, a magical place where his real father is the king. In this kingdom Bosse discovers his real name is Mio, and he and his new friend Jum-Jum (
Christian Bale) try to defeat Knight Kato (
Christopher Lee) and set free the captivated children.
