Metal Slug Anthology is a video gamecompilation for the Wii. It has unique controller functionality and marks the return of SNK Playmore as a third-party developer for a Nintendo console for the first time since the Super NES era. It was released on December 14, 2006 in North America.
A video demonstrates six new ways of controlling Metal Slug Anthology using the Wii Remote:[2]
"Nunchuk Control Stick" - movement controlled with Nunchuk; fire controlled with B, jumping with A, and grenades are tossed by flicking the Wii Remote.
"Tilt Wii Remote" - tilts control movement; D-pad "up" to jump
"Wii Remote" - classic controls; flick to toss grenades
"Arcade" - hold Wii Remote vertical against surface (emulates joystick); nunchuk fires and jumps (flick for grenades)
"Nunchuk Only" - Nunchuk controls all (except weapon switch and alternate attack)[3]
"GameCube Controller" - used for a more traditional control style, however the digital pad is not supported for movement. The button configuration can be changed with this setting.
It is worth noting that Metal Slug Anthology on the Wii does not support use of the Classic Controller for gameplay.

These Unlockable are purchased with points gained at the end of each game. However, there is a special track and gallery that must be won by taking off infinite restarts.

Reception
The game has been highly acclaimed for having seven classic games in one for only a $40 price. Anthology has also had its share of criticism for some of the Wii version's novelty control choices.
