John McNaughton (born January 13, 1950) is an American film director, originally from Chicago, Illinois.
One of his first films, made in 1986, was Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, a film with such graphic violence that it was not released for several years. His other works include the films Mad Dog and Glory and Wild Things, as well as episodes of Homicide: Life on the Street, Push, Nevada and Masters of Horror.
During an interview in March of 2006, actor
Robert Englund stated that McNaughton was attached to the possible
Nightmare on Elm Street prequel, entitled
A Nightmare On Elm Street: The First Kills, as the director
