Jake Kasdan (born Jacob Kasdan 1975) is an American television and film director. He is the son of famed writer/director Lawrence Kasdan and Meg Kasdan.
Kasdan has directed three theatrical films: 1998's Zero Effect, 2002's Orange County and The TV Set, the last of which has so far been seen mainly at film festivals awaiting a theatrical release.
He has also worked in television, most notably with
Judd Apatow for series Apatow executive produces. He directed the pilot episodes of both
Freaks and Geeks and
Undeclared. He was also a consulting producer for
Freaks and Geeks.
As a child, he made several appearances in his father's movies such as
The Big Chill and
Silverado (in the former he is an autograph seeker at a funeral and in the latter a stable boy).
Trivia
- Kasdan spent his early years as a bodyguard for a Los Angeles-based funk-rock band.[citation needed]
