Origin of Title Phrase
The phrase, "I wish my brother George was here", can be attributed to a
Bugs Bunny cartoon "Hyde and Hare". Bugs says this phrase as he sits down to play the piano. It is a reference to
Liberace, who had a brother named
George. It is also referenced in the cartoon The Three Little Bops, a parody of the story of the Three Little Pigs involving blues musicians. This phrase is referenced in season 3 of
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, in the episode entitled "Pilot". It is spoken by Lokar, the bandleader, when someone sarcastically refers to him as Liberace.
