ECKS is the hip hop artist formerly known as Professor Ecks or alternately as The Revolutionary Boss. The latter of his names is derived from the fact that he boasts both street and revolutionary credentials. He is best known for his works with KRS-One and his mixtape appearances. Ecks is also the "Boss"/CEO of New Regime, an independent record label. Members of New Regime include Dub MD, Metro Beats, Tha Thundakatz and Hala-X.
Recently, Ecks claimed that mixtape giants Big Mike, DJ Kay Slay and DJ Green Lantern have all taken an interest in him, and that he has mixtapes in the works with all three. Members of Ecks entourage also stated that Ecks has turned down several record deals. Ecks has neither confirmed nor denied this, but has said he is not interested in signing a record deal until he accomplishes certain goals as an unsigned artist.

Biography
ECKS is a solo MC, who early in his career was proclaimed by Hiphop legends such as
KRS-One to be “The Future of Hiphop”. The child of both 1960’s
revolutionaries and the rugged streets of Washington DC, Ecks brings a unique combination a hard hitting street poetry, and raw lyrics to the table.
Armed with a strong track record, an innovative production style and vivid reflections of the streets, Ecks is poised to become a name that the rap
industry does not soon forget.
Ecks made his debut at the age of 16, under the moniker of Professor Ecks, opening for such notable acts as the The Roots, Fugazi and Good Charlotte.
His talent was soon discovered by Roots member Scratch, who introduced Ecks to KRS One. Ecks would go on to make his solo debut on KRS-One’s
Spiritual Minded album, fully equipped with jaw-dropping word play, which The Source noted as “hard hitting and no-frills”. Following his debut, Ecks
went on to further establish himself as a force in the mixtape scene. He quickly became a staple on the mixtapes of Dow Jones, Mick Boogie, Streetsweepers and 730, setting the mixtape scene ablaze. Ecks began to tour widely off of his new found acclaim performing with Talib Kweli and
the Campus Invasion tour, as well as opening for 50 Cent, Ashanti and Dead Prez.
Ecks’ rising talent has began to catch many an ear in the industry and including mixtape Moguls Big Mike and DJ Lt.Dan. Both have tabbed Ecks as
the next big thing in hiphop music, and are both prepping forth coming collaborative efforts with the street poet, including new studio material with
Royce Da 5'9", Scram Jones and D-Block.
Ecks has become a hot name in the industry with talk ranging from courtships by high powered labels to comparison to legendary rappers to whispers
of beef and rivalry. However the truth about Ecks still shines through loud and clear in his music: Ecks is the future.
