Disney Interactive Studios is the video game publishing division of The Walt Disney Company. DIS was created to publish and license video games based on both Disney properties and original intellectual property. DIS was originally known as Buena Vista Games, but on February 8, 2007, the company announced its name change.

The company has recently revealed a full line up of games at E3 2006, which include Turok, a re-imagining of the video game series of the same name and Desperate Housewives: The Game, based off the hit television show. Upcoming games from BVG (excluding previously mentioned games)
BVG development studiosIn 2005, Buena Vista Games acquired two external game development studios, Propaganda Games and Avalanche Software. Propaganda Games was set up with four video game veterans and its first game will be the Unreal 3 Engine-powered shooter Turok. Avalanche Software, is the developer of the hit franchise Tak, and is working on two announced games - Disney's Chicken Little: Ace in Action (based on the super hero movie within a movie at the end of the Chicken Little film) and Disney's Meet The Robinsons, based on the upcoming CG animation film. Buena acquired a third development studio in England, Climax Racing in 2006. Climax Racing is best known for its work on the MotoGP and ATV Offroad Fury franchises. “The acquisition of Climax Racing aligns perfectly with our strategic and geographic goals by allowing us to both reach into new genres and new markets for creative talent,” said Graham Hopper (pictured), senior vice president and general manager, Buena Vista Games. “Adding Climax Racing to our creative family will provide an additional catalyst for our continued growth in the video games market.”
Buena Vista Games has also announced the formation of a new development studio Fall Line Studio dedicated to creating games exclusively for Nintendo consoles Wii and Nintendo DS. Fall Line Studio will operate as a sister studio to Avalanche Software, both companies being based out of Salt Lake City. The studio will focus on small-team projects using Disney's brand. Former general manager of Rainbow Studios Scott Novis has been chosen to serve as vice president and general manager of Fall Line Studio. "This studio will be one of our centers of creative excellence and it gives us the ability to fully capitalize on our properties and expand our market share on Nintendo platforms," said Graham Hopper of Buena Vista Games. "Scott Novis brings the perfect mix of team building and relevant business experience to the position of studio head for Fall Line Studio." Buena Vista Games has historically been a strong supporter of Nintendo platforms and is currently the number three publisher of Game Boy Advance titles in North America. And Fall Line marks the company's ongoing plan to cut back on outsourced game development and focus on internally developed software. See also
