Plot

The story focuses on three young adults (Ricci being one of these) that are attacked by a werewolf loose in Los Angeles. They must find and kill their attacker, or suffer a fate worse than death.

Production

• The movie was in limbo for over a year due to production and script problems. Several cast members had to be replaced due to scheduling conflicts with other movies.

• When the production was stalled, many cast members were cut, including Skeet Ulrich, Mandy Moore, Omar Epps, Illeana Douglas, Heather Langenkamp, Scott Foley, Robert Forster, and Corey Feldman. Some of these actors even filmed scenes which were scrapped by director Wes Craven.

Rating

Rated PG-13 for horror violence/terror, some sexual references, nudity, language and a brief drug reference. The film was edited; the rating before being cut was R.

Differences between the PG-13 and unrated versions

• In the PG-13 Version in Ellie's nightmare she just bites Jake in the neck,followed by a number

of disturbing images then she wakes up,In the unrated version she bites a huge chunk off of Jake's neck and a flow of blood comes from the wound.

• Becky's death is different in the PG-13 version,she just gets dragged away by the werewolf,In the

unrated version,she's torn in half.

• In the PG-13 version after Joanie knocks out Jake she just looks for Ellie and Jimmy,In the unrated version,She takes blood from Kyle's body and licks it off her fingers.
• In the PG-13 version Jake's decapitation is off-camera,In the unrated version,It shows Ellie decapitating him with the shovel.
• The R version is much bloodier overall. An example is that when the police see Joanie's dead, human body in the PG-13 version, they see her back, her face isn't visible, and there is almost no blood. In the R version she's laying on her back, her face is shown, and there is a lot more mutilation and blood.
