Antoine Fuqua (born January 19, 1966 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an African-American film director of such films as The Replacement Killers with Chow Yun Fat, Bait with Jamie Foxx, Training Day with Denzel Washington, Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis, King Arthur with Clive Owen and The Wash with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg. He began his career as a music video director, most notably on the video for rap artist's Coolio's hit single, Gangsta's Paradise.
He is a 1983 graduate of
Taylor Allderdice High School. He is married to actress
Lela Rochon. He is currently working on a movie about
The Notorious B.I.G. along with the rapper's mother,
Voletta Wallace.
