24 Minutes will be the 400th episode of The Simpsons and will air on May 20, 2007. It has been written by Ian Maxtone-Graham.

Synopsis

Matt Groening, in an interview with FOXNews, described the episode as "The landmark 400th half-hour, due to air in May 2007, is a spoof of Fox's 24 that's titled "24 Minutes" and features the drama's Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub as their characters (Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian)."^[1]

It has also been revealed that a Counter Truancy Unit will be set up at Springfield Elementary School, a parody of 24's Counter Terrorist Unit.

Trivia

• On March 28th, 2007, South Park aired its 24 parody, titled "The Snuke". Simpsons Comics released a 24 parody in April 2007, a month before the actual show aired its "24" parody.
• Kiefer Sutherland will guest star in two episodes in the 18th season: this episode, and "G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)". Kiefer is the second in his family to guest star. His father, Donald Sutherland, guest starred in season 7's "Lisa the Iconoclast".
• This will be the third episode that characters from another FOX show have appeared in a "crossover" storyline, following "A Star is Burns" (The Critic) and "The Springfield Files" (The X-Files). Other episodes have featured cameos from other Fox series characters. The Hill family from King of the Hill made a brief cameo in "Bart Star", as did Peter Griffin in "Treehouse of Horror XIII" and the "The Italian Bob". American Dad's Stan Smith was also pictured in "The Italian Bob". Bender from Futurama has made numerous appearances, and Fry has appeared in an opening couch gag.
• Nancy Cartwright also guest starred on 24 as Jeannie Tyler during the episode "Day 6 4:00pm-5:00pm".
