3. 1492 - Conquest of Paradise
starring: Gérard Depardieu, Armand Assante, Sigourney Weaver, Loren Dean, Ángela Molina
directed by: Ridley Scott

Customer Review:
I go to movies for entertainment, and unless the movie has been touted as a 100%, bona fide accurate portrayal of the subject, then I have no problem if facts are embellished. This is Ridley Scott's vision of Christopher ... Read More

directed by: Roland Emmerich

Customer Review:
Always a late bloomer, I discover things after they've been out for a while - that's just my way. I finally rented this flick and watched it the whole way through...and it's great! I really loved it! There is alittle bit of everything ... Read More

6. Saving Grace
starring: Brenda Blethyn, Craig Ferguson, Martin Clunes, Tchéky Karyo, Jamie Foreman
directed by: Nigel Cole

Customer Review:
I can't recall if Craig was making the Drew Carey show, or if he made the movie first. The movie is funny and great. How the whole town grouped together reminds me of the Andy Griffith show where small towns cared together. Saving Grace is a great movie.

7. Bond: Goldeneye
starring: Joe Don Baker, Sean Bean, Samantha Bond, Pierce Brosnan, Robbie Coltrane

Customer Review:
A post-Cold War James Bond might have seemed unthinkable to some. "Bondmania" was a by-product of the tense political and military stalemate that endured between the Soviet Bloc and the West for nearly four decades. Against all predictions, the Cold War ended (thankfully) ... Read More

8. Nostradamus
starring: Tchéky Karyo, F. Murray Abraham, Rutger Hauer, Amanda Plummer, Julia Ormond
directed by: Roger Christian

Customer Review:
Working from the sketchy historical details that are known about him, and taking a certain amount of dramatic license, the film "Nostradamus" chronicles the life of Michel de Nostredame (Tcheky Karyo), who came to be known more for his prophecies than for his work as a physician and an ... 9. Sorceress
starring: Tchéky Karyo, Christine Boisson, Jean Carmet, Raoul Billerey, Catherine Frot
directed by: Suzanne Schiffman

Customer Review:
A historically based movie set in 13th century France. Etienne de Bourbon was a Dominican Friar who sought to root out heresy. Based upon his writings and the story about his experience called The Holy Greyhound, so sort of a true story for events 750 years ago. Beautifully filmed, a classic ... Read More

10. La Femme Nikita
starring: Anne Parillaud, Marc Duret, Patrick Fontana, Alain Lathière, Laura Chéron
directed by: Luc Besson

Customer Review:
This movie seems a bit familiar in the first five minutes. Then I realized I had seen the American remake, Point of No Return with Bridgette Fonda.

The remake is so similar that it ruined all the plot twists for Le Femme Nikita. However, if you want to see what the derivative could ... Read More
