Murder She Wrote: Tough Guys Don't Die & One Good Bid Deserves Another starring: Angela Lansbury

Editorial Review:
Product Description: Tough Guys Don't Die Air Date: February 24, 1985 With Guest Stars Jerry Orbach, Nancy Grahn, Alex Rocco, Fritz Weaver, Paul Winfield, Gerald S O'Loughlin.. Jessica meets Harry McGraw and they figure out which one of three cases may contain the motive for the death of a private detective. One dates back 25 years. One Good Bid Deserves Another Air Date: February 23, 1986 With Guest Stars Karen Black, Nancy Grahn, Hurd Hatfield, Jerry Orbach, Edward Mulhare, Vic Tayback.. A red hot diary of a sex symbol is to be auctioned and some of the bidders are ready to shed blood.
As far as I'm concerned, all the "Murder She Wrote" episodes are enjoyable since Angela Lansbury's portrayal of Jessica Fletcher, a mystery writer from Maine, is wonderful and it's fun seeing the old time guest clebrities. Naturally, some stories are better than others and when Jessica teams up with another detective, it doesn't always work. In these two episodes, Jessica meets Harry McGraw, an old "gumshoe" in the Philip Marlowe, Sam Spade vein (women are "dames"). Trouble is, he's a bit of a doofus and keeps getting beat up! Jerry Orbach (more recently seen in the "Law and Order" series) is an excellent actor and he and Ms. Lansbury have a good rapport.
