Editorial Review:

Description:
Courage & Stupidity is a fun, feel good film inspired by the making of Spielberg's 1974 blockbuster JAWS. Courage & Stupidity is a comedic re-imagining of Steven Spielberg's troubled experiences while directing JAWS. The truth was that at 28, Steven Spielberg was set to direct his first major studio film. However, when the movie's main prop (a mechanical shark) broke, Steven was faced with making a monster movie without a monster. When we watch Jaws today we see scenes that make us imagine the creature below the ocean without even seeing a shark tail. All is implied, making our imaginations play against our fears and is ultimately what attributed to the film's major success. JAWS became the first film in motion picture history to break the 100 million dollar mark - becoming the first true blockbuster.

By mixing fact and fiction, Courage & Stupidity poses the question... What if Spielberg himself broke the mechanical shark while trying to impress his friend (George Lucas) but never told anybody?
