Nancy Campbell Cartwright (born October 25, 1957) is an American voice actress. She is best known and most famous for providing the voice of Bart Simpson; she also provides the voices of Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders and Kearney, as well as Maggie Simpson's squeaks and giggles, on the animated television show The Simpsons. A graduate of Fairmont High School, Cartwright attended Ohio University before transferring to UCLA where she earned a degree in theatre.
Nancy Cartwright has also lent her voice for Chuckie Finster on Rugrats Go Wild, Gloria Glad on Hanna-Barbera's "The Richie Rich Show", Margo Sherman on The Critic, Bright Eyes on Pound Puppies and the second season All New Pound Puppies, Daffney Gillfin on The Snorks, Gilda Gossip and Flat Freddy on Galaxy High, Mindy from Animaniacs, Rufus the Naked Mole Rat in Kim Possible and Earl Squirrel in the internet series, TimberWolf. She also provided the voice for Lu in the Kino Films TV show Mike, Lu & Og. She is also the voice of Todd Daring on the Disney Channel animated series The Replacements. Cartwright also appeared in a Season 6 episode of 24 as Jeannie Tyler, the woman Chloe O'Brian thinks is Morris O'Brian's current AA sponsor.
Cartwright published her first book, My Life as a Ten Year-Old Boy, in 2000. This book was converted into a stage show, which was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004. It was not particularly well-received by many reviewers.[1].
In 2005, an incorrect news story circulated that Cartwright had entered politics and been elected mayor of Northridge, California. In fact, Cartwright had been honored with the ceremonial title of "Honorary Mayor" by the Northridge Chamber of Commerce. Northridge is a neighborhood of Los Angeles and has no office of mayor.[2]
Recently, Cartwright has become a contributor to ASIFA-Hollywood's Animation Archive Project.
She is a member of the church of Scientology, joining in July 1989, becoming a Clear on October 1, 1991.
Nancy is also the voice of Putt-Putt in the Putt-Putt computer game Putt-Putt Enters The Race.
