Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: This 1987 thriller was a predictable hit with the teen audience it worked overtime to attract. Like most of director Joel Schumacher's films, it's conspicuously designed to push the right marketing and demographic buttons, and granted, there's some pretty cool stuff going on here and there. Take Kiefer Sutherland, for instance. In Stand by Me he played a memorable bully, but here he goes one step further as a memorable bully vampire who leads a tribe of teenage vampires on their nocturnal spree of bloodsucking havoc. Jason Patric plays the new guy in town, who quickly attracts a lovely girlfriend (Jami Gertz), only to find that she might be recruiting him into the vampire fold. The movie gets sillier as it goes along, and resorts to a routine action-movie showdown, but it's a visual knockout (featuring great cinematography by Michael Chapman) and boasts a cast that's eminently able (pardon the pun) to sink their teeth into the best parts of an uneven screenplay. --Jeff Shannon
After all of these years, this movie still makes me laugh....I still think that the two Corey's should have remained friends. Two bad they couldn't keep it together for the sequel. I was living in Houston the time this movie came out. Going to the Art Institute living on macaroni and cheese. This movie was always an escape for me. Even though the two son's in the movie were exposed to such danger, I still wanted to trade places with them and live this adventure. It's a fun film and I really enjoyed the chemistry between the actor's. They should be very proud of their performances and there is no doubt that this was the movie that launched quite a few careers. Big Bites and blood squirts....oh, and laughter.

I grew up on this movie and no matter how corny it would be if it was made today, it still stands up as a fantastic movie: a classic!
The acting is still great, the storyline is great, and the comedy is still funny!

This was a pretty good movie, a little odd but good and I liked the actors they had chosen.

Flat out, the Blu-ray version of this classic movie is amazing, the picture and sound is as if this movie was just filmed. If you loved the movie back then, you will love it even more now....this is a no-brainer on blu-ray
